The #1 Christian devotional app helping people grow with God every day.
Glorify is a Christian devotional app designed to make daily connection with God simple, powerful, and personal.
With over 25 million downloads and 81,000+ app store ratings, Glorify has grown to be a leading app for spiritual connection.

project overview
Glorify’s heart is its daily devotional—a quick, powerful way to connect with God each day. To keep users coming back, this project aimed to introduce a new community feature to let people engage with others around Glorify's daily content. By sharing reflections, prayers, and support, the devotional becomes more than a solo habit—it becomes a shared experience.
the challenge
One of the key challenges in this project was introducing a new behavior into Glorify’s core daily devotional flow without disrupting the user’s existing routine. Since the devotional is a sacred, personal moment for many, adding a community element had to be done with sensitivity—enhancing the experience without overwhelming it. The goal was to create connection without distraction.
the solution
Our solution was to seamlessly weave community into the existing flow by adding subtle entry points to discussion throughout the devotional journey. Instead of pulling users away, we brought the conversation to them—highlighting responses and engagement right on the completion screen to spark reflection and connection at just the right moment.

This case study is still under construction, but in the agile spirit, I've filmed a quick loom video walking through the process, solutions, and learnings. Check it out below 👇
tl;dr
This project explored integrating a community feature into the Glorify app’s daily devotional experience without disrupting users’ personal routines.
User interviews highlighted that community is central to Christian life, with activities like group scripture discussions and sermon reflections being key.
We introduced a comment drawer and discussion prompts tied to daily devotionals, encouraging deeper engagement.
While some users appreciated the added depth, others hesitated to share due to privacy concerns, likening it to posting on Instagram. Feedback also showed visibility issues with the discussion prompt.
Overall, the feature boosted retention and showed promise, with future improvements focused on increasing user comfort and participation.

original concept
The original concept included bible discussion, a devotional discussion space, response previews, and an entry point back to community discussion from the home screen.

explorations
Taking into consideration the user feedback, I explored some different ways we could increase the visibility of the discussion prompt and mocked up a world where anonymity was the forefront of the community future.
